This charming studio situated in a quiet area can accommodate from 2 to 3 people.
Casa Sopramare is a gracious little semi-detached house immersed in a quiet position on a hillside in the Amalfi hamlet called Pogerola, about 4.5 kms from the centre of Amalfi and its beaches.
Casa Sopramare is located 130 steps from the road and is close to the hamlet centre. The stairs down to Casa Sopramare are not so difficult and you can easily take your time to enjoy the scenery as you walk along them, or catch a bus from the road approximately 600 meters away. There is a regular bus service which takes you directly to Amalfi’s main bus station on the port of Amalfi, where you can then board other buses to any of the villages along the Amalfi Coast that you wish to visit, or ferries to the islands and other ports. Pogerola’s economy was once based on agriculture products but is now very popular with tourists due to its beautiful landscape.
Its centre is characterised by two ancient churches and the main square is surrounded by small stores: a grocery, a butcher, fruit and vegetable store, two bars and some restaurants, all within walking distance from Casa Sopramare.
For the exercise enthusiasts, there is a public outdoor gym area surrounded by pine trees that you can use to stretch and warm up before your early morning jog, and this is just a few short steps from the house. If you enjoy trekking then you can take advantage of the many paths to explore. There is a path that leads to Amalfi which takes about 30 minutes. These stairways are very popular with tourists who take them for their fabulous photographic opportunities.
Casa Sopramare is located at the second floor from the top of an old white house built in the 17th century. It has recently been completely restored, highlighting its cross-domed ceilings and thick walls redolent of the local style.
Description:
It consists of a spacious and sunny lounge featuring handmade terracotta floors, antique furniture, a big and comfortable double sofa bed, and a folder bed for a child. There is a separate kitchenette with a little electric oven, a dishwasher and a fridge. The bathroom is modern and refined with a shower, a sink, a bidet and a toilet. There are two terraces; one located as you enter, and the second bigger one (approximately 20 sqm) with table and chairs from where you can enjoy the magnificent panorama which begins at Penisola Cilentana and spans across to Conca dei Marini where you can also admire the imposing site of the Monastery of Santa Rosa and the surrounding area of Amalfi. The terrace is in part covered for your comfort. The house is very cool during the summertime because of its thick walls.
